Self Check-In Kiosk
The self check-in kiosk is a wonderful tool that allows your bidders to check themselves into an auction. With the intuitive touchscreen design, the kiosk eliminates the need for long lines and additional personnel. In order to utilize the kiosk most effectively, you will need a computer with a touchscreen monitor. There are numerous all-in-one touch-screens that are very affordable. You will also need driver’s license scanners and may want an extra laser or Dymo label printer for your bid cards.
Note:
- Before starting the kiosk on a secondary computer, you need to set it up on the primary. On the main Auction Flex menu, click Miscellaneous, select Settings & Options, and select Kiosk, and then choose your desired settings.
- Choose which (if any) credit cards to require.
- Set the starting bid card number for the kiosk.
- Set the password to unlock the kiosk (this is mandatory).
- Optionally, set a custom background for your kiosk display.
Once the settings are fixed, go to the self check-in computer and click the Start button. Under All Programs, find Auction Flex, and open the TouchScreen Kiosk. The screen will go blank for a few moments, then the kiosk will open.
Choose your auction from the drop-down menu, set your image capture device, choose which bid card style to print, and set the printer. Once you are satisfied with your settings, click Start Kiosk. The registration process can be stopped at any time by clicking Cancel This Registration.
On the next screen, you will be asked to scan your license.
If the information shown is correct, click Correct Info. You will then be asked for a phone number. Enter your number and click Done, then Continue With Registration.
Select how you heard about the auction and click Continue With Registration.
The next screen displays Terms & Conditions. After reviewing them carefully, you may click to accept them.
If Require Credit Card is turned on, the next screen will ask you for to swipe your card.
If an image is required, it will be taken on the next screen. Make sure a built-in or external webcam is set up. Once the image is taken and you accept it, your bid card will print and you will be checked in. You can also print an additional bid card at this time. Click Finished.
